How TV & the Internet Can Help You Find New Places to Eat & Drink

If you're like me and love to find new, exciting and interesting places to eat and drink then some of the programs on Food TV and Travel Channel must be amongst your favorites. Whether your looking local or far away shows like Diner's Drive-Ins and Dives, Food Paradise and Man vs. Food offer a ton of interesting options. These shows are great entertainment and can open your eyes up beyond the bland fast food and chain restaurants we all love to hate.

The problem is that without the Internet these shows are just entertainment. You'll never remember where to find these great places. However the Internet provides you some great tools so that you can take advantage of the great TV programming to actually improve the places you eat and rink. Most of the shows themselves have decent websites, however specialty maps such as this Diner's Drive-In's and Dives map, make it easy to find places near wherever you are (See the links at the bottom for more maps of TV show locations). Personally I've tried 3 of the places on DDD and haven't been disappointed yet.

Another thing I've found helpful is to keep a list of places I'm particularly interested in.  With today's mobile phones your pretty much guaranteed to have some type of program where you can keep a list of your favorite places.  There are also many websites that can keep track of places you wish to visit and even map them for you.  For example, theSUGGESTR.com, allows you to keep a wish list and will even notify you if your nearby a place on your wish list.
